I'm so pleased I didn't try this little "knock through and put a door in the hole" job myself. The builder told me it was the most complicated knock through job he's ever done. Seems the wall at the very place I decided I wanted to be a hole was a patch work of several layers representing various versions of the house over time. The pile of rubble tells the story in the mixture of different blocks and bricks.|
Builders return on Monday to trim it out and clear-up... they'll probably want paying too. Still not used to the door, it gives me a little start every time I pass it. In a "Oh! I forgot about that." sort of way.
Next job is fit two new windows in the garage. Just got to decide what sort, although that decision may come down to what I can get the cheapest. Then I can start on the workshop / laundry room in the garage.
