Had to visit a commissioner for oaths today... Seems my solicitor couldn't do it, perhaps it's a "conflict of interests" thing.

Had to swear I was Mark Rimmell for the on going probate thing. Signed a few forms, handed over £57 and came home.

Tomorrow the new washing machine is due to be delivered. So I've just been rummaging around under the sink pulling out pipes to disconnect the old and dead washing machine. So no more trips to the launderette after tomorrow.

The clawing back of data from the dead HDD continues. I have established what Maxblast did, not sure why. It copied across all the data from my old 40gb HDD to the new 160gb HDD OK. Then for reasons unknown it reformatted the old and new HDDs. One good thing to come out of this is I now have some very good software for recovering data from reformatted drives.

I'm off to Treadwells with the second consignment of books soon, then I'm meeting Ian for dinner, then off to The Blue Posts for a pint or two.
