Checking my watch

Home again, home again, jiggidy-jig! Gooood evening Moses

Flight OK..ish. Was crushed by the guy in front of me putting his seat back, I'm sure it was broken and shouldn't have gone back so far, I could of plucked his eyebrows from the position he ended up in. So I put my seat back and ended up with the guy behind me sticking his knees into my back for a couple of thousand miles. I still refuse to pay the insane price for the extra 7 inches Premier on BA gives you... and even if I was a millionaire I would find better things to spend my money on than first class air travel. I looked at the price for British Airways first class and laughed my head off, but I'm willing to try a free up-grade if BA thinks it will make me change my mind.

I was picked up at Gatwick by Ruth of much gothness and glamour and whisked back to Twickenham at the breakneck speed of 3 or 4 miles an hour (rush hour traffic). I tried to stay awake by having much coffee and charity shopping but eventually I had to crash out. Sorry Ruth I probably was very good company.

Neil came over this morning and cut my lawn and hedge, I finally remembered to give him a book on the bronze age, only because he noticed it in the kitchen. We had lunch at the cafe at the top of my road. I noticed there is a new big pole on the corner by the station with a video camera on and a notice warning of police surveillance... I must be getting old as I didn't think "Bloody Big Brother!" I thought "Good!" The station has been getting a bit lively what with kids drinking around there and smashing the place up writing their name (barely legible scrawl) on everything in sight. I wonder where it will move the problem to?

I went over and picked up Moses in the afternoon. He was a bit stressed by the trip home and it didn't help that I had to make several detours due to traffic jams. But he's settling in just fine. He's put weight on too. I'll be booking him in at my vets on Tuesday for his operation. It seemed very strange to be driving after 3 weeks and I was please to get home as it was actually very uncomfortable... Legs and arms ached (it's an M.E. thing) and it was only a half hour drive home in slow traffic.

Tuesday is also Fat Fighters... I know I've put 6lbs on as I got weighed just before I left Texas. I hope I can get some of it off before Tuesday... Watch this space. Also have to go to the bank and move this money, pay that, pay in cheques... I could barely manage my own life before now I have to do my dad's as well it all gets a bit much sometimes. I will reward myself by going to see Star Wars in the afternoon.

I have a list as long as my arm of things to do and not enough energy to do them. I'll try and rest up this weekend.

I've been catching up with Dr Who, pleased to see they slipped in the truth (well it confirmed my suspicions)about who really runs (ran) the USA in one episode.

I would really like to book a few flights back to see Ari but I think I'll have to wait until I have sorted out dates and finances. I hope Ari will be able to come over for Whitby (if tickets arrive) then we can fly back to the US together for the The Texas (someone needs to sort out the Website) Renaissance Festival I'd also like to pop over to New York to see Paul, but I'm guessing he'll be a too busy or back in Virginia by the time I get it together to get over there. One plan I'm very keen on is 2 or 3 days in New York, then fly up to Chicago to train down to Dallas. A chance to see some more of the US and relax along the way, I like traveling by train as it takes no effort to look out of the window and watch the world go by.
