The new monitor just arrived. I finished putting the picture-frame I was cutting down to fit the poster of Sarah Bernhardt R.J. & Emma brought me from Prague... Then Set up the new monitor. WOW! What a difference it's a 19" LCD, no dead pixels and it's so clear I can see small fonts without my glasses and the desktop wallpaper I was so pleased with when I did it in photoshop now looks terrible, I can see all the faults. Just hope I didn't do my eyes any permanent damage using the old monitor.
So if anyone wants a fuzzy 17" CRT monitor there's one in my hall.
Also today I have been fixing a Star Trek Next Generation Phaser. It's destined for ebay once it's working again.
It was all going so well, I had rewired the Star Trek The Next Generation Phaser only one more wire to replace and just as I push the last wire through the hole the soldering iron falls against the plastic shell and melts it.
The job all got a bit involved as can be seen by the amount of tools I ended up using. So now do I chuck it away or fill and rub down the melted bit, then paint it and then sell it on ebay for a couple of quid and end up paying myself something like 25p an hour for fixing it?
