I can't sleep... Just finished reading A Short History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson. Rather a mind blowing book, very depressing ending. The Universe is indeed a very, very big place, bigger than we can comfortably imagine. The Earth is older than I can comfortably imagine, and I think atoms (with the possible exception of scientists) are the weirdest things I have ever tried to comprehend.
Not sure what to do with myself right now... I could go 24 hour shopping. I have the choice of Tesco with auto check-out misery or Asda... I need to be up early as I had planned a busy day... But that will go out the window if I can't get a few hours sleep in before 9am.
Still can't sleep.
I have too much to do during office hours to be turning nocturnal right now.
Ugggh... Last time I looked at my alarm clock it was 6am. Must of got to sleep around 6:20 I think. 11:30 am got woken by the postman delivering the new Terry Pratchett novel.
Having coffee now. Waking up. Fairly with it. Will go for a walk before driving over to unit. Must remember to go via Tesco, there's more cat food in the flat than Mark food...
Tomorrow I will be waiting in for charity shop people to come and take away furniture then I think I'll head up to London early for a little light reading I've been meaning to do at the British Library. That is if I get any sleep tonight.
I have a new office chair. I can spin with the best of them again. Weeeeeeeeeeeeee!
Met Ian for lunch on my way over to the storage unit. Popped into PC World and found they had a few office chairs marked down. So as I was in need of one (due to other falling apart and antique captains chair not being very comfortable for working at the computer) I whipped out the old plastic card and got one.
Storage unit time wasn't massively productive. It looks worse than when I started. Brought back a few things to put on ebay. May have a weekend of photographing Gerry Anderson toys and annuals.
I do hope the charity shop people remember to come tomorrow. I really have my doubts, lady who arranged the pick-up really didn't seem all there. She did ask me to call back the week before the pick-up to confirm but haven't been able to talk to a real person, left messages saying I'd be in but haven't heard back.
I have just been sorting through a pile of floppy discs... Recovered most of the data, some had become corrupted over the ten years since they've been stored. Now I have an empty space in my desk draw :-)
