I nearly forgot... New bit of information about my dad... He used to review books for a magazine. I found a few old review copies at my uncle's place and asked him about them.

Now I want to know what the magazine was... Would be nice to track down a few of my father's recommendations. The one that caught my eye was Jane's book of airships. I was flicking through it and a letter dropped out from the publisher inviting a review. I trust dad gave it the thumbs up because it fascinated me.

A Janes on Airships, was that a recentish (the 80's revival) book. Janes All the Worlds Airships (early 1920's)- that would be something to see (though I'd suspect it would have merely been a section in the All the Worlds Aircraft - the ad's from Airship manufacturers and equipment suppliers would have been something to see (and make the steampunks drool)).

It is "Jane's Pocket Book of Airship Development" from 1976.

I just looked up the "All The Worlds Airships" 1909... it was reprinted in 1969 ... I may just have to get a copy.
