Home from the Haujobb / The Chaos Engine gig.

Strange to be standing at a gig and not seeing anyone I know. Briefly saw smogoin the queue as I rushed by heading for the cash point.

The Metro is a very strange place... It's a bit like the Underworld with delusions of grandeur. I was totally thrown by there being an attendant in the loo (sorry Gentlemen's Rest Room). Being a man of the world I knew what to do when confronted with this level of service but a couple of guys obviously had no idea what was going on. Did strike me as very strange to find 5 star hotel service in a club like that.

I kind of gathered there were more than a few technical hitches tonight, so none of the bands were firing on all cylinders... Least effected were The Chaos Engine, probably because they have more cylinders and also fire off both barrels at the same time. Gotta hold up the biased hand up here I was there to see Chaos. I've always thought of "Disaster Area" when seeing TCE. If they ever do make that HHGTTG film I want The Chaos Engine to play Disaster Area not least of all because they sound so alike (in my head) but also because I can just see Lee Chaos as Hotblack Desiato.

If you don't know who Disaster Area are read this:

A plutonium rock band from the Gagrakacka Mind Zones, they are generally held to be not only the loudest rock band in the Galaxy, but in fact the loudest noise of any kind at all. Regular concert goers judge that the best sound balance is usually to be heard from within large concrete bunkers some thirty-seven miles from the stage, while the musicians themselves play their instruments by remote control from within a heavily insulated spaceship which stays in orbit around the planet - or more frequently around a completely different planet.

And you'll be none the wiser. Go here
and read more, then buy the CD's and the books.

Got the train home. Came in the back door and tried calling the cat. Noah is dead he's been dead nearly two years. Why do I still do this? Probably because I lived with him here longer than I've lived anywhere with anyone... Possibly longer than I lived with my parents in one place.

Spent an hour updating a few odds and ends on various Web sites, just so I don't have to do it tomorrow.

Right now I'm wondering:

Will I get the hall finished this weekend?

Will I ever read Grand Cyrus?

Will moonmudge ever post again?

And so to bed.
