This month sees the 40th anniversary of the first Moon landing by humans. Or as the calender at the swimming pool states....
Armstrong's discovery of the Moon.
So as far as the calender writer is concerned, it went probably went something like this... After travelling about 380,000 km for no apparent reason, the intrepid astronauts looked out the window and noticed something.
"Err... Huston, you aren't going to believe what we've found out here."
I'm sure I remember some mention of the Moon in art, history, mythology, popular culture... prior to the 20th of July 1969.
