I have never seen a building with so much potential so tragically… - Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity. [entries|archive|friends|userinfo]

I have never seen a building with so much potential so tragically ruined as the Nutbourne pumping station. A so called "restoration" left me wondering why the architect didn't just buy a plot of land and build his ugly 3 bedroom bungalow on that instead of destroying every single interesting feature of the pumping station.

It had a truly wonderful and remarkable interior... now it doesn't.

A week on and the lodger and I are still fuming about that "vandalism".

I wonder if he saw photos of The Edison in LA if he'd have a palm of hand/forehead moment?
