Went over to Sandwich this morning.Second trip in two days. Yesterday was for the auction where I got a little carried away and went way over my limit bidding for four of these.
They are for my office. I'm rather looking forward to wiring them up and fitting them. Anyway today I returned to Sandwich and found another item for my office.
As I walked in a charity shop this was striking 10am.
At only £27.50 and having the most eccentric chime I had to have it.

It looks like it once had something mounted on the plinth. I'm tempted to try and find a small brass airship to place on top.

Later I took some industrial strength acid based, brickwork cleaner to one of the walls in the cellar. Just doing a small test area meant having to suit-up like this....
Daring Young Men Know What to Wear.

Now I'm just waiting to see if the acid cleans up the bricks a treat, or eats through the wall bringing the entire house down.

While I was getting suited-up a lady came to the door trying to sell various forms of insulation. I told her (more or less) that I thought cavity wall insulation was the devil's work and I was keen to remove the wretched stuff from my house. You really don't want to get me started on the evils of that stuff. While I'm on the subject of cold calling...I'm thinking of putting a notice up by the door stating...
