Tomorrow I'm pulling up floorboards in preparation for the moving of radiators. Just a little curious as to what we'll find under the floorboards. Hopeful of some evidence of tiling mortar pattern under the carpet in the hall. But doubtful any trace will be still on the boards. If there is the slightest, merest, hint of the original pattern I'll be tracing it with a view to reproducing it.

Got my new angle-grinder today. That's going to be fun.

Also had a call from the storage unit people in London. They want my keys so they can open the door sometime in the next month and fit alarms. This is apparently because they are going 24 hour access. Hmmm... I don't like the idea of  someone in my unit while I'm not there. So this is prompting me to get on with empting the thing and getting the stuff down here. Van rental next week?

What's the pro's and con's of having something like this temporarily in the garden, rather than a storage unit?

You can also get ones that are insurance approved, but they're more expensive.

Yeah it'd be the insurance that would be the issue. You really have to insulate steel sheds, or you cook all your stuff. Wouldn't want to store vinyl records in one.

I've found a storage place in Dover that's way cheaper than London. I think I'll move the stuff there. It would give me an opportunity to sort through the last of the boxes I just chucked in there when I was coming down with flu 18 months ago.

One of those insurance rated sheds would pay for its self in 10 months. But I want to be storage unit free in less time than that.

I'll pop over to the Dover one later in the week and take a look if I like what I see I'll sign-up and then I have a deadline to work to.
