Work is under way...

So far I'm enjoying the "can do" attitude of the fitter.
"Can you take down the TV aerial while you're up on the roof?"
"Sure no problem."

"Can you match the hearth to the new floor level."
"Sure no problem."

Going to leave the lodger in charge while pop out to pick up my £31 ebay kitchen. Yeah I got a (well half) a kichen on ebay for £31. The plan is to build it in the spare down stairs bedroom as a temporary kitchen so I can gut the old kitchen... This is all a way down the line yet but I've been putting optimistic speculative bids on local kitchen units, and yesterday I got lucky, even got a sink.

Once the new permanent kitchen is in, the temporary units and old kitchen units will be recycled in the garage as workshop storage and bench support.

Did I mention that the living room / library will have a Victorian naturalist theme, with a little cryptozoology here and there.
