Now entering the testing stage.

So far the stove has been tested with 2 stews, soup and garlic bread.
Next will be baking of bread and cakes.

No cooking done on the fireplace, but watch this space.

Has anyone got an old coal-bunker they don't want?

In my yoof it seemed every house had a concrete coal bunker out the back. I haven't seen one for years, but it seems you can still get them.

Not very period, mind. I'd be inclined to get some recycled bricks and knock up a coal bunker myself. Put it round the side of the house where there's easy access via yer side door - and you could even make a special coal delivery gate to the street, for when the Coalie comes round.

I remember coal being delivered when I was a nipper. It always came in one of these lorries. I hope stuff like that still goes on!

I remember those lorries too. I suspect these days it arrives in in plastic sacks in the back of a Transit.
